YoungstaCPT will #OWN2019 and we’re gonna own every month until 2020.

Introducing Y?GEN’s new and improved system that will be sure to keep you up to date and in the know how, as we strive to provide positive and informative material about all things Kaapstad #OWNAPRIL

Salutas, Salaam and a yes indeed, my name is Custard X and I am reporting to you live from Y?GEN HQ to tell you that the 29th of March saw YoungstaCPT drop his first official album, independently titled “3T” – Things Tak3 Time.

A double disk project with 22 of the hottest tracks your little ears have ever heard and I say this as a white dude from Muizies – it really is volcanic, ouens.

Hip-Hop engineer, Kay Faith mastered the album which also features Swiss Guru – Maloon The Boom, Luc Vermeer – Desert Head, Ganja Beatz, Psyko Beats, Chvna on the keys, J-Beatz, Jay Dogg, Loopsta, Miles Singleton, Egypt and AirDee.

Robert Black is the only noticeable singer who features on one of my favourite tracks; 1000 mistakes.

Think heritage, think culture, think Kaapstad all coming to life vicariously through Riyadh’s grandfather – Boeta Shaakie Roberts. It takes you on a vivid journey through the past and gives the struggle a voice – which Young executes expertly, as usual.

Feel free to comment your favourite tracks, we make this thing interactive.

Its just mal naaiers here at Y?GEN and because of this, we slat an album launch the same day as #3T dropped at Kenilworth Go Karting – you probably heard about it on the radio.

The gents up at CAN-DO presented the #UnbreakableCPT launch which exonerated the Y-General, YoungstaCPT.

It was a lekker night filled with top artist’s who are currently moering it in the scene, including; Kay Faith, Just Travis, Bryan Travis, Uncool Luke, Gremlin, VJ Jonno, Step Brothers and of course, Grand Master OG, Ready D.

Young and the Muffin Man’s performance was Powerful as to be expected and by that time, the venue was packed to the brim. Not to mention, an overwhelming number of hardcopies of #3T were sold which is a true indication of the loyalty and eagerness expressed by the fans.

It is not too late to secure a copy of the hottest local album of the year – just listen to it and wys me.

April is a busy month for us here at the Y?

What you can expect is regular content with the recommencing of the annual School Tour – an initiative that see’s YoungstaCPT and the Muffin Man perform at a school near you in order to raise kroon(money) for your institution.

It’s a truly awesome experience seeing the laaties go bos as we intend to #AspireToInspire the youth through an interactive learning experience.

Port Elizabeth, the Y?GEN will be in your area this weekend 05 April in association with the Fresh Ink Collective for an exclusive #3T album launch – be sure to get them tickets!

The YoungstaCPT Foundation will be operational mid-April so if you’d like to apply, you still can. We will be selecting a total of 9 applicants , namely; 3 sound engineers, 3 producers and 3 vocalist’s for a chance of a life time with Y?GEN. Keep an eye out for the open day at Cape Audio College on the 13th of April – you have been warned.

On the 13th of April there will be an all access YoungstaCPT in-store signing at Jack Lemkus in Town. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to have your laaties forehead signed – I have been informed that neither the Muffin Man or Youngin’ will sign anything from the neck down, so unlucky there kinnas lmj.

We do apologise for the delay, Eskom really was the msp of the month, but we can assure you that the merch is ready and it is looking kwality. #3T hardcopies will also be available for all those situated in locations outside the Kaap and that can’t make it to an in-store signing. Start saving, ouens – this is the druip of Kaapstad.

Awe ma se kinders, S/O to all of you for the support, continue to cop them #3T’s(the masterpiece) and lets put the Kaap on the map.

Things Take Time for a reason and we will continue to #AspireToInspire collectively, because we love Kaapstad. Salutas.
