YOUNGSTACPT WILL #OWN2019 and we’re gonna own every month until 2020.
Welcome to the Y?GEN’s inaugural #OWN series, each month we will update our Kaapstad N**iers on all the mad k*k we have planned throughout the year, as we strive to provide positive and informative content on all things Kaapstad – this is Y?GEN’s #OWNFeb.
It is imperative to us, here at Y?GEN, to make this planet wys about Kaapstad (the real Kaapstad).
By doing this, we have strived to enrich and develop, not only our beloved city, but ourselves, too.
#AspireToInspire is branded on our chest and it is the ethos that supports each pillar beneath the Y?GEN brand.
We want to make it clear that we are more than just a name. We are Kaapstad. The people of this city is something we care very strongly about – this is how the “Y? Have A Dream” pillar was conceptualized.
We have prioritised this project, as it is at the core Y?GEN and means a great deal to us. Factoring in 4 dynamics that ultimately benefit the community as a whole, this includes:
– The 4th Annual School Tour, which is a great opportunity for students to have an interactive Y?GEN experience where the Voice Of the Cape will be performing tracks off the soon to be released #3T album as well as an opportunity to raise funds for their academic institution.
The “Y?Go Hungry” initiative is a drive that focuses on feeding those, in the community, who don’t have the means to feed themselves.
The Winter WarmUp, is a strategic, community-orientated project that seeks to clothe individuals come the seasonal change.
Lastly, The YoungstaCPT Foundation, is a new initiative that sees sound engineers, producers and vocalists between the ages of 18-25 apply to Y? Have A Dream for a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from the industries elite and build valuable relationships in the music scene. Partnering with Cape Audio College, 3 individuals from each category will be selected and groomed by some of the biggest names in the country, to ultimately, follow their dream.
Being an authentic Capetonian brand, we have provided a platform for individuals in which to easily and accessibly wear Y?GEN. Kaapstad lovers will be able to purchase their taanies favourite rappers garments at an affordable price, straight from the Y?GEN shop – once it is back in action at the end of March.
However stay wakker pies and be on the look out for Y?GEN Apparel’s annual Summer, Winter and Spring drops
respectively – this year we have a fashion show curated by the local apparel elite, guaranteed, to make your neck sweat.
This year Y?GEN Apparel will also be collaborating with some of the Kaap’s original household brands, such as; 20sk8, MindMaze, Hajila Movement, Grade Africa, Leaf Apparel and Rich Boy Bellville – be sure to keep it locked on @ygenapparelcpt for more info
Local is lekker and, so are you.
All those that give a f*ck will be relieved to hear that we will continue to expand the digital aspect of Y?GEN. The world will have more access to never before seen content about Young Van Riebeek and what it takes to run a mutually exclusive business, such as Y?GEN Enterprise.
Updated live streams about events and performances which will be an interactive experience for the daily user. “Lifestyle and culture” will be expressed, exposed and celebrated, as we continue to broadcast the real Kaapstad and none of that 7de Laan k*k by means of community empowering initiatives.
For those of you who aren’t wy?s, “YoungBloodz” is a youth-focused movement that gives unrecognized talent an opportunity to have their profile and links shown off by Y?GEN. It is fantastic exposure for anyone trying to break into a very competitive industry. Through this interaction, we will set you on the right path with clarity, as well as, provide advice and priceless insight.
Lastly, “Y?GEN Music” is back and bigger than ever! Our podcasts will relaunch at our new home at Cape Audio College. We’ll utilize their state of the art equipment to produce entertaining content focusing on individuals who are boosting in the music scene. Y?GEN have thrown some dope events over the years, the only difference for the year ahead is that everything we host will be cataclysmic. We are going all out this year, bet #OWN2019.
Stemming from “Y?GEN Music”, we will be hosting exclusive events which will turn into impromptu-gatherings that features prominent music personalities within the industry, including YOU, the average bra.
“The Winter Warm Up” which is the after party event for our clothing drive, will feature a dense line up and fat jol all for a great cause.
Y?GEN’s 9th Birthday will be the biggest event we’ve ever had, keep that calender open and be sure to check up on us for dates and further information.
CAPE TOWN’S FIRST ANNUAL HIP HOP MUSIC FESTIVAL – yes, you read that correctly. We weren’t talking k*k when we said we were going above and beyond this year (watch this space).
Lastly, Y?General’s can also look forward to “The YoungstaCPT Summer Annual” – we all know how explosive this event has been in the past, imagine what we’re gonna do with it this year. You can’t. Can you?
Talking about YoungstaCPT’s accolades doesn’t do them justice, because the man has literally done it all. With over a decade in the game and an accumulation of 30 official mixtapes, YoungstaCPT has become a household name. Recently, the record breaking single #YASIS, hit over a million views – an unbelievable feat from a proudly independent Capetonian rapper. Yaatie will be launching his highly-anticipated, first official album, “3T” #ThingsTak3Time – it is nothing short of volcanic. To date, this is Y?GEN’s biggest calendar year and we will do everything in our power to successfully knock it out the park. YoungstaCPT is ready. The Muffin Man is ready. Are you?
A special SALUTAS to Puma, Jack Lemkus, Zando, Vodacom, Redbull, Cape Audio College and Mighty And The Mercy – we look forward to prosperous relationships for years to come. I’d like to end off with a jas quote from Richi Brandson, “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” We are, but humble, hard-working individuals who simply love Kaapstad.
#AspireToInspire is a way of life for us and it is something that we take extremely seriously. When it comes to Kaapstad we don’t f*ck around, because this is our home.
Our intentions are pure. Our intentions are genuine. Copy this sentiment and apply it to your daily routine, so that we may have positivity stemming from laaties to ou balies. YoungstaCPT is quickly turning into a global icon. Stay woke, be alert and don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I am Custard X and I approve of you and your whole family.
